Allies breaking ranks
“We are not aware of any information that points to Iran,” Japan’s Defense Minister Taro Kono told reporters. “We believe the Houthis carried out the attack based on the statement claiming responsibility,” he added.

January 3, 2020 at 9:44 am #192600ALBKeymasterIf this was 1914 the assassination on foreign territory of Iran’s equivalent of the head of the CIA would be a Sarajevo moment. It may turn out to be as no self respecting capitalist state can take this lying down, certainly not a medium strong one like Iran. Rocks ahead, then.

January 3, 2020 at 12:37 pm #192602AnonymousInactiveThis is a very dangerous situation which might produce a confrontation between the USA and Iran and others world powers. It is a clear indication that peoples can not trust in capitalist politician because Donald Trump promised that he was going to end all the conflicts, but world market is stronger than politicians and presidents

The USA has just killed the man that conducted the military operation to defeat the US mercenaries and allied known as ISIS and Al Qaeda, which means that, the so called war against terrorism is the war for terrorism, similar to the war on drugs conducted in Colombia. As we correctly told to some US nationalists on this forum at the beginning of his presidency that he was going to be forced to defend the interest of the US capitalists around the world, and to continue the same wars started by prior presidents, and that bourgiose nationalism is also capitalist expansion, therefore, the so called anti-globalization is just an electoral rhetoric to obtains votes and supporters
January 4, 2020 at 4:43 am #192608alanjjohnstoneKeymasterNow comes the disinformation
We can always expect the media to be fed story-lines that justify any war.
And a legal debate of the killing
No longer Labour leader but still Corbyn anti-war message must be attacked

“…Above all, American strategists seek to deprive Iran of its status as a regional power in West Asia. That means halting Iran’s development of ballistic (i.e., long-range) missiles, even armed with conventional warheads. It also means ending Iran’s support for political and military forces in other countries of the region – the Syrian government, Hamas in Palestine, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, etc. Here the US is fully in synch with its allies in the Middle East – Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf States…”
January 4, 2020 at 3:08 pm #192612alanjjohnstoneKeymasterThe first bit of real sense I have read on the web.
“Ironically, before the most recent US attacks, tens of thousands of Iraqis were demonstrating against Iran’s presence in Iraq. In November, protestors even burned the Iranian consulate in Najaf, Iraq. Recent Trump administration actions, however, have swung Iraqi popular opinion against the US, and the anti-Iran demonstrations have stopped…The people of the US have no national interest in protecting oil company profits. Recent events have shown that people in the region don’t want to be dominated by any foreign power, whether the US or Iran.”

January 4, 2020 at 6:09 pm #192615AnonymousInactiveAccording to Nuremberg rules any country placing embargo and blockade in any other country is an act of war. The USA and European powers have been in wars with different countries for many years including North Korea, Iraq, Iran, Siria, Cuba, Venezuela, and several others
