Four Comrades met for the annual Miners’s Gala in Durham City. The event was as usual very well attended, despite the absolutely filthy weather.
About 2-300 SPGB leaflets were handed out and paper exchanges took place with the plethora of Trostkyist/Lenninst groups, there was even a stand for the CPB – ML with a huge picture of Uncle Joe Stalin himself.
A plan was mooted to have our own stand at the Gala for next year, with an idea of hiring accomodation for the Friday night before and the Saturday night after, for comrades outside of the area. Durham City is very easily accessible via the Rail Network and the Station is very central to the City Centre and all of the activities.
Next year The Gala will be held on Saturday 12th July.
If anyone is interested in joining us for the weekend, please feel free to contact me and we can start making plans, etc.
It really is a fantastic day for anyone interested in the Trades Union and radical movement as well as lots of additional activities in a beautiful spot.
