Just got a reply from the people organising the husting event at St Johns Church, Seaham. According to her, candidates will be allowed to make a statement, then the panel answering questions.Looking forward to it and hope Comrades can turn out to ask a few "pertinent" questions. See you there. Steve Colborn.

Any other suggested Twitter accounts to try?
April 26, 2015 at 12:01 pm #108291AnonymousInactiveI was also thinking of the main newsdesks, Sky, BBC etc and programs such as question time. I am not sure if the manifesto is too long to do this but adding a picture can increase the number of words in a tweet. EG https://twitter.com/CongressmanNews/favoritesJust need to turn manifesto into a JPEG

We do now.Along with @LeftFootFwd @montie @ftwestminster @sunny_hundal @MichaelWhite @AndrewSparrow @JohnRentoul @IndyOnSunday @psbook @LibCon @MrHarryCole @CathElliott @mattwardman @CharlieBeckett @thefabians @PoliceStateUK @UCLanticuts who have also been contacted via Twitter.Only response so far has been from Kevin Maguire (Daily Mirror associate editor & New Statesman columnist) with a sarcastic "The Workers of the World aren't uniting with you when you've only 817 Twitter followers!"
April 26, 2015 at 3:23 pm #108298alanjjohnstoneKeymasterMaguire may have been sarcastic but it think we can't fault him for telling the truth, can we?…Pains me to say so.
April 26, 2015 at 3:33 pm #108299AnonymousInactiveElection meeting at HO just finished and BBC crew gone. There may be a snippet on BBC1 at 6pm and the BBC news channel intermittently.
April 26, 2015 at 4:12 pm #108300steve colbornParticipantI suppose if it were up to Maguire, we'd still think the Earth was flat, that the Sun orbited the Earth, and be wiping our arses with Dock leaves! Fucking intellectual Luddite.
April 26, 2015 at 4:24 pm #108301alanjjohnstoneKeymasterUmmm..Steve, i think you are mis-directing your discontent…Aren't we the social media Luddites…debating if following someone on Twitter is ideologically selling out? …Maguire expressed a painful truth, don't shoot the messenger…we have pitiful low figures for our magazine, our blog and Twitter and Facebook accounts ….We are failing to effectively use all the means of communication to connect with fellow workers….We witness the rise of (for want of a better word0.false ideologies…racism, nationalism….and we can as a Party can do very little about it…(whatever happened to the planned nationalist pamphlet) …I keep saying…after this election, we have to take a good long look at ourselves…warts and all…and see which way we should go forward.
April 26, 2015 at 4:55 pm #108302AnonymousInactiveWe will soon have a lot more than 800 odd followers. 'Favourite' that sarcastic tweet and send it back to him this time next yearWe need to follow literally thousands and retweet comments of interest, they don't all have to be the socialist message. For example reports of poverty, workers killing each other in war etc. The point is to build followers and to follow those we want to hear our message. As an example, if we follow all the newspapers, news and political accounts, then they at least know we exist. If we don't then our presence on twitter will be invisible.Follow Brand then he will know the party case in no time. The more we follow and retweet the more will follow us.Set up a second account emphasising the 'world socialist' bit, maybe 'worldsocialists@worldsocialism' and give it to an interested member with time on their hands
