The kingdom’s cabinet approved a plan to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) as a “dialogue partner”, a precursor to being granted full membership, SPA, the Saudis’ state news agency, announced on Wednesday.
Formed in 2001 by Russia, China and former Soviet states in Central Asia, the SCO is a political and security bloc of countries spanning much of Eurasia and has expanded to include India and Pakistan, with a view to challenging Western influence in the region.
Iran also signed documents for full membership last year.”

Won’t this have to ally them with long-term enemies Iran and Syria?
Realignment of capitalist blocs and cartels, old enemies become new friends, and old friends become new enemies. Whoever does not have clear socialist principles will fall in the trap of any of these capitalist groups, or will support inter-capitalist class contradictions, and in essence they are all the same

Quite an interesting breakdown of the global geopolitical scene (and terminology) though the author seems to be more biased in favour of the BRICS imperialist bloc than the G7 imperialist bloc….

For strategic purpose the USA might have at its disposition the largest oil reserve in the Caribbean basin, probably larger than Venezuela and Saudi Arabia, and the largest deposit is located in Haiti. The USA is already having conversation with the Venezuelan government in order to import oil from that country
