June 18, 2015 at 9:44 am #111945alanjjohnstoneKeymasterIf he does become president of th US, i envisage an American military attack by SEALS on the off-shore wind-energy farm that blights the views from his golf course and hotel in Scotland which he has been most vigourous in opposing. Even with his wealth, he will not be able to buy the presidency…Clinton has amassed $2.5 billion and that is to just acquire the Democrat Party nomination.
June 18, 2015 at 2:14 pm #111946jondwhiteParticipantI think he is even less credible than Sarah Palin.
June 19, 2015 at 5:41 pm #111947jondwhiteParticipantHere's a less than successful campaign launchhttp://www.newrepublic.com/article/121962/lincoln-chafee-had-worst-campaign-rollout-year

September 3, 2015 at 2:41 pm #111949jondwhiteParticipantJeb Bush has released his campaign advert attacking Trumphttp://abcnews.go.com/Politics/video/jeb-bush-releases-campaign-video-attacking-donald-trump-33463170Particularly interesting in light of Socialist Punk's comments on political advertising in the UK in the Corbyn topic and generally negative attack campaigning which American politics has down to a fine art.
September 20, 2015 at 6:59 pm #111950alanjjohnstoneKeymasterTrump renews the anti-muslim campaign and now joined in it with Carsonhttp://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-34308716The US has a long history of religious bigotry in their elections…Kennedy was the first Catholic elected, and in many homes outside the US, his photo was alongside that of the Pope

November 27, 2015 at 6:31 pm #111953jondwhiteParticipantA fellow Republican candidate has used argument ad hitlerum in his campaign attack ad on Trumphttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCQhBYEMRQIIs it appropriate? Certainly I have seen reduction ad hitlerum used inappropriately here on this forum.
December 15, 2015 at 10:04 am #111954jondwhiteParticipantReading this article got me thinkinghttp://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/dec/15/donald-trump-rally-scuffles-threats-support-candidate-riding-highIs Trump a typical Republican? Is Trump good for capitalism?
December 16, 2015 at 1:37 pm #111955jondwhiteParticipantAn even better question, are Donald Trump's claims to be considered 'truths'? Clearly not in the common usage of the term but I'm thinking of in terms used by Lbird here.Donald Trump Says crime statistics show blacks kill 81 percent of white homicide victims. Donald Trump "I watched in Jersey City, N.J., where thousands and thousands of people were cheering" as the World Trade Center collapsed. Donald Trump "The Mexican government … they send the bad ones over."Donald Trump "The people that went to school with (Barack Obama), they never saw him, they don't know who he is."All of these are rated 'pants on fire' by Polifacthttp://www.politifact.com/personalities/donald-trump/statements/byruling/pants-fire/but Trump is riding high in the GOP polls so are these 'true' for his supporters?
January 6, 2016 at 4:28 pm #111956jondwhiteParticipantIn light of the discussion on truth, I thought I would reraise the Trump topic.
