They offer capitalism as a solution to capitalism causing nothing but confusion. Organisations like that are a bigger threat to the workers than anyone else. You can receive 80k views per £1000 invested in promotion.Besides, we got 5k in a week  Do the mathand we didn't offer capitalism as a solution.Hope you've been sharing ours

Indeed, and we haven't yet invested any money in its promotion. But what is particularly nauseating is that a reformist outfit masquerading as revolutionary (and it's not the first time it's happened) has seemingly been proselytised on this forum.

Nothing of the kind. It has been informative and has allowed some comments from our viewpoint, for the illumination of non-members and newer members who can't attend discussion groups and education classes..

A Guardian article related to this threadhttps://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/sep/02/socialism-young-americans-bernie-sanders

    Quote:
“Young people who say that they’re socialists, or look favourably on socialism, they’re thinking about a kind of New Deal government or democracy against markets,” said Frances Fox Piven, coauthor of a widely debated radical plan in the 1960s to alleviate poverty and create a basic income, and more recently the targetof a vilification campaign by Fox News. “What the New Deal represented was government efforts to regulate an unbridled capitalism and to supplement the distribution of income under markets with government programs.”

A new form of State Capitalism like in the Soviet Union,  by employing millions of workers by the state. The state apparatus become part of the ruling elite and the national corporation. Bernie Sanders is a new dealer, and his conception of socialism is what Marx called bourgeoisie communism. Real socialists ideas have not spread in the USA yet. Left wingers have propagated the wrong conceptions that state education, state transportation, state medical services, civil service, social service,  are socialism-communism. It is not a threat to capitalism

There is one so called Democratic Socialist who was elected in the US on November 8, 2017. He is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. He was able to defeat  a very powerful Republican candidate . Despite that he is just a leftwing reformist,  It looks like the word socialism in the USA is not a dirty word any longer https://newrepublic.com/article/145727/socialist-beat-one-virginias-powerful-republicans

Interesting. Was this an election to the Virginia State legislature ("House of Delegates") rather than the national "House of Representatives"?

"House of Delegates". I like it. Good new name in Socialism for the House of Commons and the House of Representatives.

Something to read about the DSA and the Democratic Partyhttp://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/42609-how-democratic-socialists-worked-with-sanders-s-our-revolution-and-other-grassroots-groups-to-sweep-november-s-elections

You had to be running as a Socialist. You didn't have to be a DSA member, Ginger Jentzen is not. But you had to be a Socialist and be okay with talking about it, even if it wasn't in the forefront of your campaign.

    my emphasis

Doing its best, notwithstanding all the distorters and detractors, in keeping alive the real meaning of socialism in the US.

I think we have to consider the state of our party and our companion parties. It is not a healthy one, as i am sure many would agree. We are considering a national structure for ourselves. It is a shame that the remit does not go wider and produce suggestions on creating a real World Socialist Movement…a unified world party. Would such a re-organisation help to reverse the downward trend of membership and participation? Well, that is up for debate, a debate we cannot avoid having even if we do presently procrastinate.
