PS Many peoples are wearing surgical mask but they do not provide enough protection, and some are wearing cloth masks displaying flags and slogan but they are not safe either, the best mask is the N 95 or the 3M half face

Further research supports the food market origin of Covid-19

    https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-62307383

Two peer-reviewed studies published re-examined information from the initial outbreak in Wuhan the Chinese city and say there is “compelling evidence” that Wuhan’s wet market was at the centre of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The market was the epicentre of the epidemic, said Prof Michael Worobey, lead author and biologist from the University of Arizona, with sellers getting infected first and setting off a “chain of infections among community members in the surrounding area”.

Virologist Prof David Robertson from the University of Glasgow, said that he hoped the studies would “correct the false record that the virus came from a lab”.

The theory that the virus could have been leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology said Prof Stuart Neil from Kings College, “can’t explain the data”.

After Covid, it was monkeypox, now there is an ominous threat of a return to polio.

I’m of the generation in the UK which was probably the last to see youngsters with legs in callipers

Although all the main scientific evidence challenges the lab-leak theory of the coronavirus beginnings, many still hold to it and continue to spread the idea.

Another expert presents the evidence that it was the Wuhan food market that was the origin of Covid.

Moderna announced that it had filed a lawsuit against two of its competitors: Pfizer and BioNTech, alleging that that the companies copied technology that Moderna developed before the COVID-19 pandemic but used in its COVID-19 vaccine.

All but forgotten, its failure no longer news worthy

Two-thirds of countries are yet to meet the target of vaccinating 70 percent of people in all countries against COVID-19 set a year ago.
The death toll from COVID-19 is four times higher in lower-income countries, where less than half (48 percent) of the population have had their full initial round of vaccinations. At the current rate, it will take almost two and a half years for 70 percent of people in the poorest countries to be fully vaccinated. Meanwhile, rich countries are already beginning to roll out booster programmes and in some cases fifth shots, using the new generation vaccines, the majority of which have been ordered by rich nations.

Prominent scientists opposed Sunak’s lies that Johnson slavishly “followed the science”.

Clinical epidemiologist Dr. Deepti Gurdasani tweeted: “we weren’t empowered. The govt (which you are a part of) continued to make policies which had no basis in science, and killed >200,000 people & disabled hundreds of thousands while we screamed helplessly at every step.” She described Johnson’s decision to delay the first lockdown for weeks as “an action that very likely cost tens of thousands of lives. That’s on you. Do you think SAGE [Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies] were ‘empowered’ then? They were dismissed. By you [Sunak].

“You can try to revise history all you like – because the dead can’t speak. But there are many who won’t let them be forgotten.”

When we and WHO thought it was all over

    https://www.dw.com/en/china-more-than-a-million-could-die-from-covid-in-2023/a-64175560

300,000 people could die from COVID-19 infections by April 2023 and 1.6 million people could die by the end of the year.

“Infections are steeply on the rise and hospitals are overwhelmed. It’s quite [certain] that the situation is spiraling out of control, at least in Beijing and other big cities,” said Björn Alpermann, a sinologist at the University of Würzburg in Germany.

A prominent epidemiologist, Eric Feigl-Ding, tweeted that the situation was “thermonuclear bad.”

Feigl-Ding predicted “over 60% of China’s and 10% of the Earth’s population likely infected over the next 90 days. Deaths likely in the millions — plural.”

UK-based health data firm Airfinity said about 9,000 people in China were probably dying each day from Covid, nearly doubling its estimate from a week ago.

Cumulative deaths in China since 1 December likely reached 100,000, with infections totalling 18.6m, Airfinity said

Airfinity expects deaths to peak on 23 January with about 25,000 a day, with cumulative deaths reaching 584,000 since December.

Airfinity expects China’s Covid infections to reach their first peak on 13 January with 3.7m cases a day.
