May 26, 2021 at 8:46 am #218441ALBKeymasterYesterday’s Times quotes the Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, as accusing the West of hypocrisy because
“they had failed to condemn the forced grounding of a plane carrying President Morales of Bolovia in Vienna in 2013 over suspicions that it was also carrying Edward Snowden, the American whistleblower.”
Did that happen?
May 26, 2021 at 9:47 am #218448alanjjohnstoneKeymaster3 July Morales’s plane, en route from Moscow to Bolivia, is forced to land in Vienna after other European countries refused it airspace, suspecting that Snowden was on board. Bolivian vice-president Alvaro Garcia says Morales was “kidnapped by imperialism”.

“In politic and baseball is very hard to predict anything”How right he was with how events have developed.
There are the weaponisation of migrants by the Belarus regime at its borders with the Baltic States and Poland in retaliation of EU sanctions.
Now Lukashenko warns it will cut gas supplies to Europe.
“We are heating Europe, and they are threatening us,” he said, referring to a Russian gas pipeline that runs through Belarus and into the EU. “And what if we halt natural gas supplies? Therefore, I would recommend the leadership of Poland, Lithuanians and other empty-headed people to think before speaking.”

As a side note, I was not aware of the unique position of the Russian city of Kalingrad (Konigsberg), an isolated enclave, separated from the rest of Russia
November 13, 2021 at 7:58 am #224247alanjjohnstoneKeymasterWhy is the UK sending 10 soldiers to assist the Poles on the Belarus border to strengthen the anti-migrant fence. When did NATO assume immigration responsibility?
November 14, 2021 at 6:44 am #224275AnonymousInactiveAre we going to see another scenario similar to Kosovo ?
November 18, 2021 at 11:47 pm #224427alanjjohnstoneKeymasterFrom an initial ten, UK troop deployment has gone up to 150, ostensibly engineers to presumably install more razor wire fences.
Where is the furore from the Brexiteers who demanded out of EU but now silent about strengthening Fortress EU? Immigrationdefinitely should not be the responsibility of NATO commitments
