Tim H came into contact with the Party after receiving an insert in the New Statesman and then contacted Swansea Branch. He recently left the Labour Party. The next phase of the campaign will see 70k of our "An end to rationing" brochure inserted into Unison's U magazine. The total cost of this phase will be just under £4k.
Are there are any plans to do repeat inserts in publications like the New Statesman? It will be interesting to see if this results in an increased rate of response if people remember the inserts from the first time round

Not at the moment. We still have a list of publications which have not yet received inserts the first time round. These are, but not exclusively, the balance of the 1.3m Unison membership, The Scotsman (30k), Glasgow Guardian (newspaper of Glasgow University – 4k), The Week (146k), The Guardian (400k) and the membership of the GMB (630k).

January 22, 2018 at 11:55 pm #126462AnonymousInactiveOur brochure insert for The Guardian is now being printed and will be placed in the Saturday, 3rd March edition. We will be supplying 100,000 copies for London distribution only with a view to covering the 300k balance of the circulation next time around.
March 7, 2018 at 7:56 pm #126464AnonymousInactiveText based on our existing insert copy will appear as a full page ad on the back of the March issue of the Glasgow Guardian. Circulation of the paper is around 30,000, mainly to students, and the University and Colleges Committee is looking at a possible Glasgow weekend school to augment the promotion. Details of all respondents to the advert will be forwarded to the local branch. Our Guardian insert appeared last Saturday (3 March) in 100,000 copies in the London area. Further insert promotions will be presented to the April EC.

March 10, 2018 at 10:52 pm #126466alanjjohnstoneKeymasterI just read that there are 70,000 students in Glasgow, 11% of the population, so this approach to them with the above advert is indeed a useful tool.
