Despite the Forde Report asserting that anti-semitism allegations were politicalised, Hodge insists Corbyn remains ant-semite for saying so.
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/aug/02/jeremy-corbyn-urges-west-to-stop-arming-ukraine
“I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that my clearly stated support for the right of Palestinian people to be able to live in peace free from occupation, free from being under siege as in Gaza, and for those living in refugee camps … played a factor in all this. Benjamin Netanyahu couldn’t wait to condemn me for my support for the Palestinian people.”
The Labour MP Margaret Hodge condemned his remarks. She said: “To suggest our fight against antisemitism on the left means that we are all part of a conspiracy to smear Corbyn is frankly absurd and of itself antisemitic. This consistent failure to understand and distinguish between our Jewish identity and the complex Middle East political issues is at the heart of why Jeremy continues to be outside the Labour party.”
August 12, 2022 at 3:30 pm #232134alanjjohnstoneKeymasterLiz Truss has set out a plan to “protect British Jewry” from “creeping antisemitism” and “woke culture” in the civil service, while praising Jews for holding values such as protecting the family unit and setting up businesses.
Truss also challenged whether schools were doing enough to educate pupils and teachers about antisemitism and claimed she would rid university campuses of anti-Jewish hatred.
At the same time, she set out her own view of Jewish values, saying: “So many Jewish values are Conservative values and British values too, for example seeing the importance of family and always taking steps to protect the family unit; and the value of hard work and self-starting and setting up your own business.
August 12, 2022 at 4:23 pm #232136ALBKeymasterWhat a stupid thing to say but typical of her. Imagine if Corbyn had said that all Jews want to become petty capitalists. What about the vast majority who are wage-workers and whose aspirations are no different from any other workers — and whose interest is to get rid of capitalism.
I wonder whether there won’t be a backlash against this.
August 12, 2022 at 8:46 pm #232140AnonymousInactiveThe leftists think that all Jews in Israel are capitalists and all the Palestinian are workers and they do not have a ruling class. Israel has many foreign workers from others countries obtaining low wages and there is a wide spread poverty in the whole nation, both Palestinian and Jews are poor wage slaves and both have a ruling class. They need binoculars
August 13, 2022 at 5:51 am #232148ALBKeymasterThe backlash against that unspeakable woman over this has begun:
“Joel Rosen, the president of the Union of Jewish Students, asked for her to withdraw the “offensive” remarks. He said: “Many students have reached out to me in light of Liz Truss’s remarks … As UJS Sabs, we have spent hours educating student unions and university officials about antisemitic tropes.
“Her comments about setting up a business being a Jewish value constitute an inaccurate and offensive portrayal of the Jewish community … Many Jewish students have found her remarks to be ill-judged and offensive. We hope she reflects on her words, withdraws these remarks, and reaches out to our community.”August 15, 2022 at 8:59 pm #232224alanjjohnstoneKeymasterStill it is nothing on the scale that the alleged anti-semitism of Corbyn and the Labour Party faced from the media.

August 16, 2022 at 7:19 am #232234ALBKeymasterBesides being a purveyor of antisemitic “tropes”, Truss is a first class hypocrite. She is known to want to move the UK embassy to Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and denounces her civil servants as antisemitic for advising against this (how her civil servants must hate her). On Ukraine she shouts that Russia must be seen to lose as not losing would set a precedent that state borders can be changed by force and so is a threat to the rights-based international order, etc, etc, blah blah blah. But when Israel changes its internally-recognised borders by annexing East Jerusalem, the Golan heights, parts of the West Bank, that’s ok. Israel has done everything Russia has.
August 16, 2022 at 6:55 pm #232244alanjjohnstoneKeymasterIsrael originally blamed the deaths of civilians on Jihad missiles falling short which was widely reported in the media.
Now the truth has emerged.
An army inquiry into the August 7 attack concluded the five children were killed by an Israeli air attack.
Not as widely reported

“…If the Palestinian misuse of these analogies is utterly wrong, their abuse by Zionists has been truly wicked. Israeli leaders have called any Palestinian or Arab leader they disliked a “new Hitler”, to justify aggression and war against Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon and others. Before their trilateral attack on Egypt in 1956, Israel and its two co-conspirators, France and Britain, portrayed its pan-Arab leader, Gamal Abdel Nasser, as “Hitler on the Nile”.
Worse, any journalist, scholar or peace activist who dares criticise Israeli policy is routinely denounced as an anti-Semite, Holocaust denier and neo-Nazi.
Meanwhile, “Never Again”, the noble phrase that appears on many Holocaust memorials, has become an excuse for dominating Palestine and much of the Middle East. Well after Israel became the Middle East’s superpower and its only nuclear power, the “threat to the survival of the Jewish state” has been used as a pretext to bomb, kill and maim Palestinians and Arabs…”

And any Jewish people who do that are ridiculously denounced as self-hating Jews.
August 23, 2022 at 9:05 am #232335alanjjohnstoneKeymasterIn October, Israel labeled as terror groups Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, Al-Haq, the Bisan Center for Research and Development, Defense for Children International–Palestine, the Union of Agricultural Work Committees, and the Union of Palestinian Women Committee. A few days ago Israel raided a number of their premises.
The EU found the allegations unsubstantiated and resumed its funding of them.
https://uk.news.yahoo.com/eu-resumes-funding-six-palestinian-100226807.htmlNow the CIA finds them false

But the veracity of Israeli government claims will often go unchallenged by the media.
August 28, 2022 at 3:49 am #232444alanjjohnstoneKeymasterTwo Israeli ex-diplomats speaking at a United Nations Security Council session examining the long-term impacts of maintaining the status quo in illegally occupied Palestine, publicly criticized their government’s policies against Palestinians, with one former negotiator of the Oslo Accords calling the growing use of the word “apartheid” around the world a “wakeup call” that must not be ignored.
Former Oslo negotiator, Daniel Levy said that denying basic human rights to Palestinians “will never be a recipe for achieving sustainable security…
…We know of certain developments that can at the same time be both politically uncomfortable and politically salient,” he added. “The increasingly weighty body of scholarly, legal, and public opinion that has designated Israel to be perpetrating apartheid in the territories under its control is just such a development.”
Former Israeli diplomat Alon Liel—who served in South Africa during the rule of that country’s Israeli-backed apartheid regime—said Israel’s designation of six Palestinian civil society groups as terrorist organizations followed a familiar pattern.
“It brings me back to apartheid South Africa and I am ashamed. These are my memories of South Africa, the chasing of the people of the struggle,”
August 30, 2022 at 5:10 pm #232525alanjjohnstoneKeymasterCharity World Vision worker jailed again by Israel for supposedly financing Hamas
In 2017, the Australian government, which is a significant donor to World Vision, concluded in a probe that no money was used for transferring funds to Hamas.
Human Rights Watch said that the sentencing was “a profound miscarriage of justice”.
“Holding al-Halabi for six years based on secret evidence, which multiple investigations rejected, made a mockery of due process.
September 2, 2022 at 5:11 am #232590ALBKeymasterInteresting statistic with political implications;
September 2, 2022 at 5:33 am #232591AnonymousInactiveGood statistic for those who are saying that Israel control and dominate the USA. They do not know that Israel has around 20-25% of poverty among the population, and there are peoples from different ethnic groups and nationalities
