Seems he has won the Nobel Prize for economics for theories on taxation

I see he is Edinburgh-born and educated (as was Tony Blair) but what relevancy and importance his studies are , i have no idea. Perhaps some can enlighten me of his worth or expose the hollowness of his ideas for a possible comment on the blog.
