NB I had not forgotten how well Steve Coleman represented the SPGBHis opening talk against the Labour Party would make an excellent Whiteboard Animation?

Just tried the first 24 seconds of his talk. Wonder if this would work? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJsprZ2J2WA

Good to hear from you Harley. It would be great to get some similar meetings going in the North East again, going to try and get another branch meeting organised at the end of the month if your able to attend?YFSTim

Wonder if this would work as a 'stand alone' perhaps with another voice? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aVwMUO7Gs8

Does anybody remember the pamphlet from the early 1980s from paul breeze called WORLD OF FREE ACCESS ? I thought this was very good at putting the case for a sane society in a easy to understand format. A video version of this publication would be tremendous and a fitting tribute to paul who passed away a few years ago.

Came across this youtube based "crash course in philosphy" in 42 units of about 10  minutes duration each  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1A_CAkYt3GY        Its snappy and witty though the guy speaks a little too rapidly to fully assimilate what he is saying in my opinion.  But I have to say I quite like it.  How about producing a "crash course in socialism" sort of along the same lines, eh?

The link worked for me, by copy and paste. My first impression is that he is a philosopher able to put his point across with  humour and the technical ability to produce videos. So all we need is a socialist with the ability to put the case for socialism across with humour and an ability to produce videos  Did you ever see this, Robbo?brilliant:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipe6CMvW0Dg

Yes Ive seen that one Vin.  Its excellent.  I like the "crash course in  philisophy" format mentioned above though.  It would be great to have a "crash course in socialism" perhaps spread over a dozen units or so

Hmm, now I wonder if we have anyone who fits that bill?

Why Whiteboard Videos work in education https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgB3jyxQXiM&t=42s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDZFcDGpL4U&t=105s I was thinking we could create a character like Frank Owen in the Raggered Trousered Philanthropist  Or even do the book in a series?Or alternatively create another socialist character?Would appreciate any input.

Very interesting videos indeed.   I think the case for making use of this sort of technique is very strong

I know for a fact that the new AVC has already submitted a report on this matter to the EC which I anticipate will be considered at its next meeting on Saturday, 4 March alongside other proposals relating to advertising.

It is already done, brilliantly I think, as a comic.http://www.avine.co.uk/great-money-trick/I think the whiteboard idea is a good one, but not for Tressell, only if it was kept for short pieces, even a series of short ones..The education whiteboards have the advantage of a captive student audience and are most likely a relief from the tedium of remembering straight facts from boring lecturers..

Thanks for that, Matt, I hadn't seen it before.  I don't really find it engaging and I like the book. Imagine it animated as a whiteboard,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZ1E98Sr64QAnimated and brought up to date and to life.I think it would be more engaging and more likely to be watched.A whiteboard video on the money trick would already have an audience as Tressell is popular on the leftAlso it will have our stamp on it and advertise the party. We may hear 'have you seen the SPGB's  Video? Good take on the money trick'    'SPGB?'NB:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFdCzN7RYbw&t=9s
