We, as a Party, pride ourselves in our accurate analyses of the two Russian Revolutions.
I know it is next year but i think we should begin discussing and planning our response to next year's anniversaries.
. I know one comrade who is adept at collating articles from our archives to produce e-books. I think he should be encouraged to start the preparations now and we can publish our own book on the Russian 1917 Revolutions. Something more substantial than our old pamphlets.
Campaigns should begin organising a series of nationwide tour of public meetings for 2017, with a mobile display, advertising posters and templates for advertising the events.
Media should now be thinking about press releases concentrating upon our unique insight into the history and development of the Russian Revolution and their leaders.
The Socialist Standard should be requesting submissions for special issues February(March) and October (November) [depending on calendars]
There is no reason why we shouldn't push the boat out and blow our own trumpet when it comes to this occasion and there is no reason that we shouldn't start getting ready well in advance. Start early to get ready and perhaps, just perhaps, we might be able to offer another narrative to all the little Lenins and Trotskys and Stalins who will be drowning out the internet with their versions of what took place.
