As usual, we will be present at this event:
http://www.worldsocialism.org/spgb/event/may-day-london-12noon
We aim to set up a small stall outside the Marx Memorial Library building in Clerkenwell Green. In any event there will be a comrade there from noon with leaflets and Socialist Standards. No volunteers to bring the Party banner so we won't be able to muster under it.
May 2, 2018 at 7:17 am #132658ALBKeymasterThree members ran a small stall and handed out leaflets (surplus London election ones). Sunny day but the turnout for the march was pathetic. Without the Turkish, Kurdish and Tamil "Marxist-Leninists", some brandishing pictures of Stalin, there'd have been hardly anybody on it. Hardly any trade unionists as such. In fact it was a "Marxist-Leninist" rather than a Trotskyist convention. Still, we met some old contacts and had some interesting conversations. There's an official TUC march and rally on Saturday 12 May at which there will be many, many more.

May 4, 2018 at 11:19 am #132661ALBKeymasterNo doubt because they are nationalists as all "Marxists-Leninists" deliberately are. Incidentally, over the years we have had a few members (I can think of 4) from "Turks based in London".
May 4, 2018 at 7:51 pm #132662jondwhiteParticipantGood to hear some join us.

Because the Socialist Party is not based on bourgeois reformisma, bourgeoise nationalism, and the so called national liberation, and we do not support Leninism

It is saying Turks based in London join marxist Leninist groups because those groups are nationalist. Why are Turks any more nationalist than Brits?

Arab socialism is a bourgeois nationalism which is worst and more intense and reactionary than European nationalism and Germany nazism and they want the return of the Ottoman Empire and backward islamism. It had been supported by several Trotskyist groups which proclaimed that Hussein was an anti imperialist. The British nationalists are boys scouts
May 7, 2018 at 8:19 pm #132668jondwhiteParticipantTopping reddit.com/r/socialism earlier today was an image of Glasgow May Day March. It pictured a horizontal red banner reading 'Our Flag Stays Red' with little yellow stars. This was described as a 'red bloc' but I believe it also appears on the facebook page of the 'Scottish Communists', a branch of the 'Communist Party' (Morning Star).https://www.reddit.com/r/socialism/comments/8hha7a/may_day_red_bloc_in_glasgow_scotland_today/Here's hoping the Marx and Engels banner of Glasgow SPGB branch saw the sunshine too!
