Scientists have created…
Oooops… discovered, surely?
And why shouldn't the democratic producers have a vote about a social creation?
And why is the elitist ideology of 'Religious Materialism' useless in the face of both modern physics and democratic socialism?

Quote:A negative effective mass can be realized in quantum systems by engineering the dispersion relation. A powerful method is provided by spin-orbit coupling, which is currently at the center of intense research efforts. Here we measure an expanding spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensate whose dispersion features a region of negative effective mass. We observe a range of dynamical phenomena, including the breaking of parity and of Galilean covariance, dynamical instabilities, and self-trapping. The experimental findings are reproduced by a single-band Gross-Pitaevskii simulation, demonstrating that the emerging features—shock waves, soliton trains, self-trapping, etc.—originate from a modified dispersion. Our work also sheds new light on related phenomena in optical lattices, where the underlying periodic structure often complicates their interpretation.https://journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevLett.118.155301#fulltext

Please, everybody, may I suggest you all exercise some self-control and refrain from responding to the OP and the subsequent follow-up posts you will have inevitably triggered.

April 21, 2017 at 11:32 pm #126733AnonymousGuestThe capital based dollar is inherently discriminatory against poor people. A better unit of trade and exchange would be an hour of persons time. If you're poor you could fairly be charged an hours of your time equal to $9 at your salary working at McDonnell's for seeing a movie in a theatre. If you're rich you could fairly be charged an hour of your time equal to $1000 at your salary working on wall street trading derivatives for seeing a movie in a theatre. The conclusion is that charging the same dollar price to everyone is not fair and charging he same time and effort price to everyone is. Also, charging prices based on an hour of a persons time converted into dollars make the movie theatre more money and lets the poor people afford to see as many movies as the rich person.
