I have been informed by the admin of this forum  that there is no way of closing my account on this website  which is stange because Vin doesn't want to close down his account but somehow admin has managed to  close it  down.

Could  someone please close down my account?

Surely your not telling me that the IC is unable to close an account?

Has I've explained in a PM the moderator can only close down an account when a user is being suspended.  If you wish to leave the forum you have to close down the account yourself.  I've also explained how to close your account.  But you are insistent that I carry out that action.

I have tried to close downthe account but there is no option unless you have admin rights

Hmm, I can't see a 'close account' option, but couldn' you:1) Put in a dummy email address e.g. made.up@made.up.com2) Tap some random letters into a text editor.3) Copy and paste them into the password field and confirmation4) Save the changes, and delete the random passowordThat way you'd not have password access, and you'd be unable to receive a retrieval email. If you really want to do that.

You don't need admin rights to close down your own account.  Please follow the instructions sent to you.

Bill you can be so confusing and hard work on times!  There is no 'closed account' option.  You go into Edit scroll down and click on the Blocked box.  Done.

Yes, please do that, so the rest of us can quietly benefit from the cessation of your attention seeking self-indulgence.

Gnome,I would rather Linda not close her account right now, as the NERB online meeting is due to start tomorrow. There are some questions that need answering regarding accusations that have been thrown around.

Normal user can't "block" themselves nor delete their own accounts. The moderator is viewing the site with elevated permissions. If anyone doesn't want to use the site anymore the best thing to do is to cancel any email notifications and then stop logging in.

So how come when I sign to my account  under Brian the Edit is visible and when clicked the Blocked and Active boxes appear?

That's because the account "Brian" also has moderator permissions. So you only need to log into the "moderator1" account to make a comment with your moderator hat on. You can still do other moderation tasks whilst logged in as "Brian"
