This coming Sunday, 29 November, a protest will be taking place in London on the eve of the Paris climate talks, which will take place from the 30th November to the 12th December.

A large march is expected which will assemble in Park Lane at 12 noon and make its way along Piccadilly, Pall Mall and Whitehall, terminating at Millbank.

Comrades will be distributing specially prepared leaflets and selling literature along the route of this march.  There will be two assembly points where comrades can meet up.

At 12noon by the statue of Achilles sited in Hyde Park at the south-western end of Park Lane and at 3pm at the north (Millbank) end of Lambeth Bridge.

Please do your utmost to assist other comrades who have already volunteered to be in evidence at this protest.

Those also intending to go to the talk by Glenn Morris on 'Charity' at Head Office at 3pm are advised to turn up at the earlier assembly point.

We need more members/supporters to help out with leaflet distribution at this march on Sunday, particularly at the first assembly point at noon by the statue of Achilles near Hyde Park Corner. Please email spgb@worldsocialism.org urgently if you think you can assist.

I quite like their slogan:http://climatejusticejobs.org.uk/'To change everything, we need everyone'

Six of us turned out to leaflet this, both at the beginning and at the end, but we ran out of leaflets. Apart from the SWP and the CWO (who had a leaflet which said the same as ours except with an even more pessimistic headline "Either social collapse or socialism" than our "Too Little Too Late"), we seemed to be the only leafletters there using the word "socialism".In fact this was a Green rather than a leftwing march with corresponding leafletters, eg vegans and a group called "Deep Green Resistance" which declared "DGR's goal is to dismantle industrial civilization". No thanks. And "Deep Green Resistance is a radical feminist organization. Men as a class are waging a war against women". No thanks to that either. I'm not sure why I was handed one of their leaflets … by a man (a class traitor?).As to slogans, the main one seemed to be "What Do We Want? — Climate Justice" but there was also "Go Vegan. Save the Planet". I must admit, though, that the best was the SWP one "Society Change Not Climate Change" (them saying they are for something for once).

It's a pity that more leaflets weren't printed but there was no guarantee that even six members and supporters would turn up.Probably best to do more next time even if it means wasting some that are left over.
