    WORLD SOCIALIST PARTY (NEW ZEALAND) – GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE

    Meeting held via mobile telephone at 51 Weymouth Road, Manurewa and 15 Tanera Crescent, Wellington

     DATE:                     Sunday 2nd November 2014.

    CHAIRPERSON:     M Grayson, moved T Lovatt, 2nd M Gribble.

     OPEN:                     2:20pm.

     PRESENT:               (Committee)          M Grayson, M Gribble, T Lovatt, C Matene.

                                    (Members)            G Coffey, C Malins, J Ryder.

                                    (Supporters)         Mike, Sega (the dog).

     APOLOGIES:          None.

     PREVIOUS MINUTES/ERRORS & OMISSIONS/MOVE & ACCEPT:

     Previous minutes read and received.  No errors or omissions.  M Gribble moved the minutes be accepted, 2nd C Matene, all in favour, previous minutes accepted.

     DISCUSSION ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES:

     1.       Follow-up correspondence was given to all recent inquirers.  No further reply has been received from any of the inquirers yet.

    2.       G Coffey to write to Nikki Hager about citizens being spied on in NZ.  WSPNZ already realised what was going on many years ago even though it was firmly denied by government officials.  Circulate letter to members before sending to Nikki Hager.

     MOTIONS OF WHICH NOTICE HAS BEEN GIVEN:              None.

     CORRESPONDENCE INWARD & OUTWARD:

     1.       Socialist Party of Canada – Newsletter for November received.

    2.       Socialist Party of Canada – Complimentary copy of their journal “Imagine” received.

    3.       Lawrence Leight – email received.  M Grayson replied.

    4.       M Grayson moved the correspondence be accepted, 2nd C Matene, all in favour, correspondence accepted.

    RATIFICATION OF MEMBERSHIP FORMS:         None.

     REPORTS OF SUB-COMMITTEES:                      None.

     TREASURER’S REPORT & ACCOUNTS TO BE PRESENTED:

     M Gribble presented the treasurer’s report.  No transactions this month.  SPGB account will be cleared by December.  M Gribble moved the treasurer’s report be accepted, 2nd T Lovatt, all in favour, treasurer’s report accepted.

     LITERATURE SECRETARY’S REPORT:

     Socialist Standards have not yet arrived form the UK.  Email received from Auckland University with a contact number to clarify info regarding their subscription to the Socialist Standard.

     NEW NOTICES OF MOTION:                None.

     GENERAL BUSINESS:

     1.       No reply from internet committee yet.

     NEXT MEETING:                     Sunday 7th December 2014 at 2pm.

    GAC MEETING CLOSED:       2:45pm.
