Although an executive in the airline industry for many years, i see from wiki his qualifications and experience are economic rather than technical but i believe at the earlier stage, certain governments did not fully reveal what they knew…i think the Thai air force traced the plane on radar for part of its travels but declined to declare it but more because of admitting cock-up than anything more sinister.
