WSP(India) Conference report

REPORT OF THE PROCEEDING OF THE SPRING SCHOOL & TWENTIETH ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE WORLD SOCIALIST PARTY (INDIA) HELD AT HEAD OFFICE, MARCH  1 – 2, 2014:

 

SPRING SCHOOL: Saturday, March 1, 2 PM to 7 PM (with breaks):

(called to order at 3 PM)

– B. Sarkar welcomed comrades.

B. Sarkar initiated the discussion on the Theory of Value. The discussion was called to order at 3 PM and continued until closure at 7 PM (having a tea break from 5 PM to 6 PM). 

 

TWENTIETH ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2014: Sunday, March 2, 2 PM to 7 PM (with breaks): 

– Present: Binay Sarkar, Sumitra Mondal, Hari Sadhan Ghosh, Dipak Kumar Bhattarya, Pradip Kumar Singha, Dipankar Roy, Raghu Narayan Chaudhuri, Biswarup Chaudhury, Saroj Bose 

– Chairperson: Dipak Kumar Bhattacharya

 

On the eve of commencement of the Conference Biswarup Chaudhury informed B. Sarkar over telephone that he is reading a Facebook post by Iurie Nistor displaying the logo of the World Socialist Party (India) and reporting: “On March 1st 2014 the Socialist Party formally re-recognised the World Socialist Party (India) as a companion party and member of the World Socialist Movement.” B. Sarkar opened the Facebook page and saw that it has been primarily posted by Alan Johnstone followed by Iurie Nistor. He obtained a printout and read out for consideration. In this regard mention was made that in response to WSPI AMM 2013 proposal, the World Socialist Party (New Zealand) had already communicated their welcome resolution in their December 2013 minutes in the following words: “M Grayson moved that the World Socialist Party (India) be reinstated as members of the World Socialist Movement, 2nd M Gribble, All present in favour. Motion carried. Send email to The Socialist Party with the WSPNZ decision in favour of the WSP (India) being readmitted into the WSM.”

 

– MSC: resolved with great pleasure that it’s a remarkable event and moment for the World Socialist Party (India) to be formally re-recognised by the Socialist Party of Great Britain as well as the World Socialist Party (New Zealand) and that we extend our companionship to all Companion Parties and comrades involved in organizing the World Socialist Movement.
