GENERAL BUSINESS:
1. Wellington Film Festival attended by M Grayson. Documentary “Spirit of 45” is a must see film depicting Britain after WWI. A review of this film was published in the May edition of the Socialist Standard 2013.
2. Advertising – Free ads for community notices on Face TV (formerly Triangle Television). Up to 30 words displayed several times between 6pm – 11pm daily. M Gribble moved a motion that the WSPNZ put an ad on Face TV once a week, on different days, for 7 weeks, J Ryder 2nd. Four votes in favour of motion, 1 vote against the motion. M Grayson against the motion to advertise, and suggests that perhaps members watch the film “Spirit of 45” and organise a public meeting to discuss and review the documentary. This meeting could then be advertised on television and in newspapers, as opposed to just advertising a message or slogan of Socialism. After much discussion, motion is yet to be resolved. Needs more discussion.
NEXT MEETING: Sunday 1st September 2013.
CLOSED: 3:10pm.
