The Trots saying the same old thing but presenting it as something they just newly discovered. But just digging up dead theories like the resurrectionists robbing graves for dissection.

What i am surprised at is when they are discussing radicalising the Labour Party and the role of Parliament how convenient it is for them to never to mention the ILP (nor the Socialist League – not the Morris one but the 30s/40s version) – always a need to talk about Franco or Pinochet but not what is more relevant and a closer parallel to todays unity and peoples assembly .
Decades of Left history is forgotten or neglected and i cannot think this is simply accidental but quite deliberate. It means facing up to lessons they have no wish or desire to learn. Even the CPGB of the 20s get more attention in recent articles i have read on the web than an actual living breathing and elected mass "left" party of supposed socialists and political firebrands like Maxton…the Benn of his time.

alanjjohnstone wrote:Maybe this should be in the other thread and not a new one.Yes, probably, as this is an SWP take on Left Unity..They are right that "left governments" always fail, but not for the reasons he gives (it's more to do with the impossibility of making capitalism operate other than as a system which has to be put profits before people). Not that that has ever prevented them telling workers to vote for one, "without illusions" of course.
