Her personal life is a little contradictory because she was against women oppression and discrimination but she became a Muslim
Sad news. She had a very troubled life marked with very real tragedy.
One of my all time favourite performances. A real protest song.
She was anti catholic but she was not against religion. Evangelical are anti catholic too. Tony Bennett was a Christian and he was an anti war activists all his life, he participated in the civil rights movement, marches and protest, he opposed military segregation, and he was against Jim Crow, racism and slavery
