Is there a socialist message in Guillermo de Toro’s new horror series on Netflix? Maybe yes and maybe no. I’ve watched the first two episodes and I want to recommend them. I COULD devise a reason for socialists to watch – the protagonists are driven by debt into committing unspeakable acts and this wouldn’t happen in a socialist society. But it’s Hallowe’en, you don’t need an excuse to enjoy scary television.
Seen “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities” on Netflix yet?In our time anything can be called socialism due to lack of the understanding and knowing of what socialism really is. He supports something called bourgeois liberalism which does not exist any longer, but in the mind of many peoples from the USA anything can be liberalism or liberal and it is also equated with socialism, but socialists called it state capitalism. There is nothing of socialism in all his movies. Horros movie are very popular in our time because we are living in a society based on violence and horrors, but peoples do not have the necessary intellectuals tools to explain why violence takes place in this society and they are given a diabolic character, as well there are some groups that are indicating that capitalism was created by the devil which is completely absurd, and that the devil is going to destroy the earth, but none of those theories do not provide the real causes of capitalism and why capitalism is destroying several natural resources
