Well did they never?
Labour must make “use of the [union] flag, veterans [and] dressing smartly” as part of a radical rebranding to help it win back the trust of disillusioned voters, according to a leaked internal strategy presentation.
The presentation, which has been seen and heard by the Guardian, is aimed at what the party calls “foundation seats”, a new term for the “red wall” constituencies that handed Boris Johnson a landslide in 2019, and other seats it fears could also turn blue. It will be seen as a marker of how concerned Labour is about its electoral position.

How anyone with the slightest sympathy for the socialist cause could identify or associate with this disreputable thoroughly opportunist organisation, god only knows. Its so patently obvious Labour is just the alternative team (to the Tories) for running capitalism. The grey suits on both teams are to all intents and purposes, indistinguishable

Only Saville Row attired Oxbridge graduates should apply.
February 3, 2021 at 7:35 am #213421ALBKeymasterIt seems that the super-opportunists who now control the Labour Party want, not only to win back their voters who deserted to the Tories in December 2019, but also to steal some traditional Tory voters by appealing to the Tory Working Man.
In any event, it is clear that it’s back to Labour, Tory, Same Old Story, which, perhaps hopefully, will lead to people voting for neither bunch of career politicians who merely aspire to form a government within capitalism.

February 10, 2021 at 12:25 pm #213740ALBKeymasterHe jumped ship too soon. If he had stayed on he would have had a good chance of becoming chancellor of the exchequer. At least he now realises that the LibDems are a waste of time.

“Ministers have ordered the union flag to be flown every day on all UK government buildings in Britain…”

March 25, 2021 at 9:14 am #215983ALBKeymasterThe report in today’s Times adds:
“Labour indicated its support for the plan.”

The Labour Party shagging the flag is like flared trousers: it comes back into fashion every 10 or 12 years:
